Russia develops HQ (C2) simulation system for training in ground, naval and air combat warfare

One of the eye catching features of the ARMY 2020 expo in Russia was the presentation by the Russian defense industry of the latest simulation systems intended for recreating the complex environment of warfare both at the command and ground levels.
The major development in this field is Spektr-7E software & hardware system designed by the Moscow-based RPA RusBITech company for computer-aided warfare planning, military training and combat environment simulation. The system, which has been offered for export, is said to be a sort of a 'shell' for tying in the single simulation environment various other training systems and eventually sparing resources by replacing the actual training battlespace with the virtual one.
Spektr-7E can be used for training of headquarters and units from all services and branches (Army, Navy, Air Forces) and for simulation of ground, naval and air combat activities. It encompasses the set of simulators and trainer systems depending on assigned mission, and is developed in two major versions: HQ (C2) Synthetic Training System (HQSTS) and Tactical Environment Simulation and Simulators Integration System (TESSIS).
HQSTS provides training for the HQ staff in general operational planning, planning of fire weapons coordination, missiles and artillery troops, aviation, air defense and navy engagement, planning of reconnaissance, control and communications, as well for planning of special troops activities. According to the developer, the system can increase professional qualification level and skills of officers, including their ability to quickly assess the situation.
TESSIS is intended for individual and group (crews, units) tactical training and includes simulation and 3D visualization of combat activities. It extends capabilities of simulators and other training systems through integration of all its components into joint training environment. TESSIS makes possible live comprehensive simulation of combat situation and develops practical skills under close-to-real conditions.
